A beautiful Victorian locket and book chain in sterling silver, hallmarked Birmingham 1882. The circular locket features a finely engraved flower design to the front, rendered in soft, naturalistic detail. The reverse is plain, with a hinged mechanism and interior compartments for photographs or keepsakes.
The accompanying book chain is composed of interwoven silver links in a textured, woven pattern, embellished with evenly spaced flower-shaped appliqués, each pierced with a decorative cut-out.
This distinctive chain style adds visual rhythm and tactile interest, reflecting the bold silverwork and sentimental craftsmanship of the early 1880s.
The chain measures approximately 16 inches in length and 15mm in width. The locket measures approximately 40mm in height, 35mm in width, 9mm in depth
