About the Item
10K yellow gold round locket with diamond on chain. The Victorian locket measures just over 1 3/8" long with bail by 1 1/8" diameter. There is a small round earth mined diamond accent measuring about 2.5mm set in an engraved starburst. The locket has a rich gold color, looks like 18K plated over the solid 10K which was not uncommon for the period. There is a fancy 3 letter monogram engraved on the reverse, looks like MLR? The pendant includes a 24" 14K yellow gold chain with 18 pierced decorative links. The necklace weighs 6.55dwt and the locket dates from about 1890 with a newer chain.
