About the Item
A beautiful gold pendant necklace from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 14k yellow gold and sterling silver, this necklace features a padlock heart pendant, which features a large, central oval-cut garnet. The garnet rests within a bezel setting, and displays a lovely soft red hue. The backside of the locket features a shield-shaped panel, which is encrusted with 5 rose cut diamonds, which rest within bezel settings. Both sides of the heart feature intricate scrolling motif etchings, and the top of the piece features a lock which allows the piece to attach easily to its complementary chain. The piece is accompanied by a 14k rolo chain, which secures with a spring ring clasp. A truly wonderful pendant necklace, this colorful piece would make a lovely addition to any Victorian jewelry collection!
Measurements: The chain measures approximately 15.5" in length. The padlock measures slightly more than 1 1/4" tall, 7/8" wide, and a little less than 1/4" deep.
Condition: The necklace is in excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The padlock's shackle moves smoothly, closes securely, and is not removeable from the chain. The chain and its spring ring are secure and in good working condition.
