Victorian industrialism pendant-brooch with a agate
This is an industrial-shaped pendant-brooch created in England during the late Victorian period, between the 1870 and 1880. The unusual pendant-brooch has been crafted with a mechanical machine look in solid gold of 14 karats with polished finish and embellished with applications of black enamel. It is mount in the center with one natural earth mined white agate accented by by a rectangular bar element, which is set with sixteen rose cuts diamonds. Fitted at the reverse with a hinged pin bar to wear as a brooch and a hook to wear in a chain as a pendant.
Industrial look jewelry
Industrialism-inspired jewelry often features geometric shapes, cylindrical elements, and rivet-like details, evoking the aesthetics of industrial machinery and the Second Industrial Revolution. This design style can be seen in pieces like bars, barbells, and chains for piercings, as well as in other jewelry like necklaces, rings, and cuffs. The industrial revolution refers to the mechanization of work processes that took place mainly in the 19th century. This had a great influence on the fabrication of jewelry and silverware. Items with a homogeneous appearance could easily be made in large numbers, especially sheet metal which could be worked very rapidly.

Agate: Mount in the center in a screw setting, with 1 round flat cabochon cut (28 x 28 x 4 mm) of a natural translucent white agate with a weight of about 29.5 carats.
Diamonds: Mounted in flush settings, with 16 rose old miner’s cuts diamonds, with an estimate total weight of about 0.32 carats.
Weight: 12.9 Grams, (8.30 Dwt).
Measurements: 32 mm by 28 mm by 8 mm (1.26 x 1.10 x 0.32 Inches).
Hallmarks: Unmarked as usual and electronically tested for the assay of the 14kt gold. The ring we have in suite is stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay and warranty of the 14kt gold and signed as follows, "LAF 14KT".
Collateral: This Victorian pendant-brooch is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.
Condition: The overall condition of this Victorian pendant-brooch is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. The 17 gemstones are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
