About the Item
A beautiful sapphire and diamond crescent moon necklace from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 18k yellow and sterling silver, this necklace begins with a rolo chain, which secures with a simple lobster claw clasp. The lobster clasp is stamped "14KT" and "ITALY". The center of the necklace features a crescent pendant. The surface of the pendant is encrusted with bead-set sapphires and diamonds. The no-heat sapphires display a fabulous cornflower blue hue, and have an approximate total carat weight of 2.5ctw. The diamonds, which vary between old mine and rose cuts, have an approximate total carat weight of 2.6ctw and display k/M color and VS1-SI1 clarity.
Measurements: The chain has a total length of 16", and the crescent measures 1 1/8" tall and 1" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold or sterling silver settings. All of the sapphires and diamonds are secure and intact. The lobster claw clasp is in working order.
