THIS IS A SUPERB ANTIQUE VICTORIAN BOOK BELCHER CHAIN NECKLACE IN A BRAIDED MESH DESIGN WITH TWO FABULOUS BALES INCLUDING A LARGE DOG CLIP BALE AND A LARGE CIRCLE CLIP BALE. THE NECKLACE IS GOLD FILLED AND DATES TO C1860-1890. THE NECKLACE IS PERFECT FOR HANGING YOUR FAVORITE LOCKET OR PENDANT.
The chain is a wonderful gold filled belcher link chain of great beauty. It sits beautifully on the neck with its stunning heavy braided mesh design. The necklace has a fabulous large dog clip at the bottom. The lower section can also be removed if desired as the circle clip opens so you may hang additional lockets or pendants from both the circle clip and the dog clip.
The Victorian book chain is 18 inches (45 cm) long.
The drop portion is 2 1/2 inches long. The dog clip is 1 inch (25mm) long.
The chain is 10mm wide.
The chain dates to the Victorian period circa 1860-1890.
