About the Item
This is a very rare and wonderful Victorian pendant with a hand painted image of a Winged Cherub or Angel with a dove bird on a string set in a Greek Key motif setting in 9 Karat Rose Gold. The romantic and charming image is beautifully hand painted on porcelain. The imagery of love and of peace are truly extraordinary.
The details are absolutely stunning, the beautiful eyes, curly hair, the nose and mouth, the wings of the cherub, and the painting of the dove bird on a leash are all exquisite. This is one of the most beautiful angel motif pendants we have seen and the workmanship is absolutely the finest. The wonderful Greek Key motif of the engraved setting in 9 Karat Gold is exquisite. The pendant dances delightfully around the neck and creates a conversation piece to be passed on for generations. The pendant dates to circa 1850 - 1900.
The pendant is 2 1/4 inches (55mm) tall including the bale and is 1 1/4 inches (34mm) wide.
The image alone is 1 1/4 inches (33mm) tall.
