This is an absolutely gorgeous Royal Blue Enamel, Pearl and 16 Karat Gold Antique Victorian - Belle Epoque Picture locket pendant necklace in an Etruscan Revival motif. The locket is a perfect size - two inches long. It opens to reveal the photo compartment with place for 2 photos. The elegant picture locket dates to circa 1860. The locket has exquisite gold work with a raised design with a central pearl set in a star setting with royal blue enamel surround. The pearl center rests on a ribbon above a circular braided rope further adorned with blue enamel. Fleur de lit motifs are above and below the center motif. The locket has wonderful heavy gold weight and classical and elegant Victorian design. It is the perfect piece for your treasured mementos. It is a joy to wear and to be passed on for generations.
The locket is 2 1/8 inches long (54mm) including the bales. It is 1 3/8 inches (35mm) wide.
The picture openings are 33mm by 27mm.
The locket tests for above 14 Karat gold, most likely 16 Karat.
