Indulge in a spectacular Antique Victorian Rose Cut Diamond and Black Onyx Heart Pendant Necklace or Brooch in Silver atop 18 Karat Yellow Gold. The romantic and elegant Victorian jewel has a Black Onyx heart in the center. The silver and gold work designs include flower motifs and swirling elements. The pendant is set throughout with gorgeous antique Rose Cut Diamonds. The diamonds are set in silver atop 18 Karat gold as was the custom of the period. The diamonds were set in silver in order to create the most reflection of light from the diamonds as white gold and platinum were not available. The heart has beautiful open work design and is a masterpiece of romantic artistry. I love the carved black Onyx heart within the center of the pendant. The heart has a hidden bale which is invisible when the jewel is worn as a brooch. The Diamond and Onyx Heart is a delicate romantic jewel full of the romance of the Victorian period. It is perfect to be worn every day or at the most glamorous affair and is a treasure to be passed on for generations.
