Victorian smoky quartz and yellow gold cross pendant circa 1880. *
ABOUT THIS ITEM: #P-DJ716B. Scroll down for specifications. At 3 ½ inches long, this is a larger scale cross. Despite that, there are plenty of delicate and beautiful details embellishing the design. Just look at the fine, scrolling filigree details around the middle of the cross. All of it is meticulously milgrained. And what about the bezels with all those delicate prongs holding onto those large smoky quartz stones? It is an amazing interplay of elements and visual delight.
SPECIFICATIONS:
GEMSTONES: six oval, faceted smoky quartz, each measuring approximately 18 x 14 mm, totaling approximately 84 carats.
METAL: 18-karat yellow gold.
WEIGHT: 28.2 grams.
MEASUREMENTS: approximately 3 ½” (8.89 cm) long including the bail and 2 ¼” (5.72 cm) wide overall.
CONDITION: high magnification photographs show considerable design details, and that the item is in good condition, all consistent with age and wear.
