Beautiful Victorian Circa 1800s
Black Vulcanite locket
with amazing front hand carved emblem
the patina is slightly browned tint from sunlight wear
(which is usual for vulcanite material )
Large size 4.7 cm x 4 cm x 1.5 cm
Article has been weighed with the lace
and is 16.8 grams
Locket alone weighs 15 grams
Black Leather Lace is 56 cm long
The locket opens
closes securely
one side has a brass mounted glass frame
(this has not been opened)
The original brass hinge is present and one end has become slightly
unstuck a juts out 1,5mm from its bed - some attention to this may be necessary
to prevent the hinges exposed end catching on clothing when worn.
