About the Item
A vintage 14 karat yellow gold chimney sweep and cat charm pendant. The charm is nicely detailed with the chimney sweep, his gear and the lovely cat who hitches a ride on top of the ladder. This chimney sweep is ready to clear some soot!
In the 18th century, it was believed that a chimney sweep saved the life of King George II by stopping his runaway horse and carriage. The king issued a royal decree that chimney sweeps bring good luck and that they should be treated with the utmost respect.
Collect your own charms as wearable memories, it has a symbolic and often a sentimental value. This lovely detailed three-dimensional genuine 14 karat gold charm is the perfect addition to a charm bracelet, wear on a necklace chain or layered with your other favorite beauties.
The charm is in very good condition and dates from 1960s-1970s. It comes without the chain.
