This antique heart pendant necklace is a romantic treasure from the Victorian era, circa 1880-1900. Originally crafted as a locket, the piece was later modified into a pendant, preserving its original charm while adapting it for modern wear.
Made of 14k yellow gold, the heart is pavé-set with fine seed pearls and centered by an old mine-cut diamond, which adds a gentle sparkle to its lustrous surface. Each pearl is individually hand-set, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship typical of the late Victorian period. The closed-back construction and softly domed form reveal the artistry of its original design, while the modification maintains its structural integrity and vintage beauty.
The pendant measures 1 inch in length and 7/8 inch in width, suspended from a 16 3/4 inch round-link chain finished with an early-style spring ring clasp. Together, they weigh 10.33 grams in total.
