About the Item
An amethyst drop-shaped vintage pendant crafted in 14 karat gold. The pendant is set with a translucent faceted amethyst stone. The amethyst is light purple in color, the stone is faceted and bezel set in a gold worked matted frame which has a twisted gold ribbon around the stone. The 14 karat gold frame has a satin matted finish that really shows off the amethyst.
This purple treasure is the most popular variety of quartz crystals that is considered the most powerful and protective stone. It has been sought after throughout the ages for its stunning colors and ability to stimulate the mind and emotions. Amethyst stones come in colors ranging from deep purple to the palest shades of pastel lavender and even pink. Most amethysts have excellent clarity, with no inclusions visible to the naked eye, and are available in a variety of cuts and carat weights. Amethyst is the February birthstone and is said to strengthen relationships and give its wearer courage.
The pendant is in very good condition and measures 3.7 cm in length and width 1.5 cm. The pendant weighs 3.84 grams. The gold bail has a satined matte finish and stamped with a 14 karat gold hallmark.
