About the Item
Vintage headhunter brass and trade bead necklace, Nagaland.
Trade beads with a brass medallion of a hunter's head shaped like a fish as the centerpiece, attributed to the Konyak and contiguous tribal groups. These types of brass heads are fashioned from box tops originating in Assam or Bengal and coming into the Naga realm via Manjour, and so are sometimes referred to as "Manjour Medailions". These necklaces were worn by those who participated in successful head hunting raids. It was restrung in the 2000s on flexible wire with a silver fitting.
The necklace measures 26" in circumference and the pendant measures 5.25" in height.

Antique Tibetan Tribal Necklace Conch Shell Heishi & Old Dzi Beads, Featuring Bronze Ritual Pendant
A striking museum-grade Tibetan tribal necklace, hand-assembled from an exceptional selection of antique Himalayan elements. This piece combines richly patinated red discs heishi, natural conch shell spacers, and rare old Tibetan dzi-style beads—each carrying unique symbols, age-wear, and organic texture developed through generations of ceremonial use.
At its center hangs an authentic bronze ritual pendant, traditionally worn as a protective talisman by Himalayan nomadic tribes. The warm earth tones of the discs contrast beautifully with the ivory-toned conch and deep black dzi motifs, creating a necklace with profound spiritual resonance and a powerful sculptural presence.
This is not a modern reproduction—each bead shows genuine age, hand-carved irregularity, and the tactile history of an object carried through travel, trade, and devotion across Tibet and the Himalayan plateau. A dramatic wearable artifact, equally suited for collectors of ethnographic jewelry and connoisseurs of soulful statement pieces.
