About the Item
This vintage italian cross impresses by the precision and the detail of the decoration. The entire front is hand carved with leaf and flowers patterns and the whole cross is surrounded by a fine twisted chain. This thread technique is called filigree. Filigree, also less commonly spelled filagree, and formerly written filigrann or filigrene is a form of intricate metalwork used in jewellery and other small forms of metalwork. It is usually made with tiny beads or twisted threads, soldered together or to the surface of an object of the same metal and arranged in artistic motifs.
The 18kt yellow gold cross is in good used condition, with normal signs of wear commensurate with the age of the jewel.
