A vintage 18 karat (18K) yellow gold charm pendant designed as an Italian Gobbo or hunchback, wearing a tailcoat, while bowing and taking off his top hat. Unmarked but tested for 18 karat gold.
Il Gobbo is an Italian good luck charm, designed as a well-dressed gentleman in a suit and top hat, sometimes also holding a horseshoe and making a protective hand gesture. The term 'gobbo' is the Italian word for hunchback, but the charm symbolises good fortune and protection from the evil eye, rather than being a literal representation of a physical deformity.
