About the Item
A large turquoise and onyx 18 karat yellow gold vintage Italian horn pendant. The Italians call it the cornicello - in Neapolitan curniciello - also called 'lucky horn', is a scaramantic and lucky object with a very old history. The pendant is a feast for the eyes and beautifully created with a round veined turquoise stone at the top and below its body is made of smooth shiny deep black onyx.
Its origins go back at least 3500 years ago, to the Neolithic period, when it was customary to hang a horn-shaped object outside houses with the task of ensuring fertility and well-being.
Collect your own charms as wearable memories, it has a symbolic and often a sentimental value. This detailed three-dimensional genuine 18 karat gold, turquoise and onyx pendant to wear on a necklace chain or layered with your other favorite beauties.
The pendant is in very good condition and of high quality. Hallmarks present and visible on the bail. The pendant comes without the chain.
