About the Item

This Victorian suite features a pendant necklace and a pair of matching dangle earrings, each bearing a sizable red cabochon garnet accented by crescents made of nine shimmering natural pearls with an additional pearl in the center of the garnet. Hand fabricated in 18K yellow gold. The suite is nestled in its lovely, original green leather box indicating it was manufactured by West Son, 18 College Green, Dublin. West Son is considered the oldest European jeweler, dating back to 1720. (The firm moved to College Green in 1841). A rare and collectible mid-to-late 19th century treasure! The pendant measures 4 x 2.5cm and the earrings measure 4 x 2cm.

This antique Victorian 15K gold demi-parure comprising pendant earrings and pendant brooch with chain is set with over 10.00 carats of cabochon almandine garnets. The elongated pendant earrings are designed as scrolling leaf motif tops, each with an oval cabochon garnet, flexibly suspending a reverse-tapering drop of floral and foliate form set with pear-shape and oval cabochon garnets, en suite with a conforming pendant brooch and delicate rectangular trace link chain. Still stylish today, the lightly voluminous, repoussé forms have an easy, gentle sway, while their soft bloomed gold and saturated red garnets enliven the eyes and face. The jewellery set is composed of drop earrings and a necklace with a removable cross pendant.
