About the Item
A very classic and very wearable long pearl necklace with 'coin' elements interspersed. Can be doubled or worn as a long single rope, mixed with other chains or simply worn on its own. Fromm the reign of Karl Lagerfeld, using highly iconic Chanel motifs and components, this is Chanel style and elegance simply personified.
Not much needs to be said about Coco Chanel, so famous and successful a designer is she!
Chanel opened her first boutique in 1924, many years in advance of what was to become a worldwide and iconic fashion label. Whilst many disapproved of costume jewellery, praising fine or real jewellery, Chanel championed the merits of faux jewellery, often mixing both together. Often, many of these ‘couture’ pieces were unsigned, but highly recognisable through distinctive characteristics and techniques. This supremacy of costume jewellery over real continued all through her career, (all of which is now legendary, through numerous books and films.), continuing right through all the creations of the house to the current day.
