About the Item
This rare Art Nouveau notebook case, may be a souvenir, depicts the center square of Munich, Marienplatz with the town hall and the fountain with the statue of Mary in the center of the square. The case is made from silver plated metal. Both sides of the case have been decorated, one side with a typical Art Nouveau frame made out of iris and other flowers, the other side is with an embossed image of two sides of Marienplatz in Munich. A small metal pencil is used to close the notebook case. The notebook and the pencil can be worn on a chain. The notebook may also have been used as a carnet de bal.
