A decorative Art Nouveau silver plated cigarette case, beautifully embossed with iris flowers in high relief against a hammered background. The iris — symbol of faith, hope, wisdom, and renewal — was one of the most beloved motifs of the Art Nouveau period, reflecting natural elegance and refinement.
This case is silver-plated, with a well-made hinged construction and secure clasp. While unmarked, the design is closely related to continental examples from France and Germany, c.1900.
