About the Item
This charming box was handcrafted in 1830 ca. It was most probably a sentimental gift, a token of fidelity and friendship.
It is made out of wood covered in velvet. The inside is lined with purple velvet. The outlines of the lid and the base of the box are covered with engraved steel trimmings. The lid of the box is decorated with an oval steel plate. The plate is decorated with an image of a dog in a landscape. The image was etched and engraved into the plate. The bottom of the box is covered in embossed leather.
