An antique warrior suffers the punishment of Poseidon, who sends a sea monster to frighten the two horses of the young man's chariot.
Exquisite snuffbox with a fine soapstone carving mounted in a solid silver frame.
The handsome snuffbox was carved in the 1830's.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. There is a crack going through the middle of the mythological scene, it is only superficial and does not go through the entire segment. If one opens the lid and looks at the reverse inside the box, there is no crack, only a coloured line.
