Rare and unusual 18K gold, enamel and shell jewelry box of French origin, circa 19th century. It is very ornate, with depictions of scenery, farm animals, a boy playing a flute on the bottom, and a picnic at the very top. Detail is excellent and enamel is in good shape throughout. The inside is highlighted by shell inserts.
Hallmarks: French 18K gold assay mark. maker's mark.
