An Art Deco yellow gold mechanical pencil.
This exquisite mechanical pencil is beautifully designed. Hailing from the Art Deco era, it is simply designed to create maximum impact, resulting in a very classy piece. Engine turned decoration adorns the pencil, giving a texture that also aids grip when writing. There is a vacant cartouche, ready for a personalised engraving or monogram. The end of the pencil twists to move the lead along the pencil as needed. The pencil is in excellent condition. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.

Pencil width, at widest: 11.5mm
Hallmarks: 9.375 (9 karat gold), London, date letter ‘r’ for 1932, bearing makers mark “SM&Co” and inscribed with “Mordan Everpoint Patent 307227”. Sampson Mordan is famed for patenting the first mechanical pencil and was a prolific maker of quality pieces.
