About the Item
Very rare Antique hard paste porcelain figure of a Cat made at the Royal Porcelain factory of Vienna in 1784 , Sorgenthal period (1784 - 1805). Detailed Overglaze hand - painted decorations on the head and the paws only. Amazing green eyes :)
29 cm high and 11 cm widest x 17.5 cm deepest at the base,weight is about 2 kg.
Marked and dated to base with period standard Vienna Porcelain Bindenschild in cobalt blue underglaze, digits 84 for the last two figures of the year of manufacture 1784 ( from 1783 until 1800 two last digits of the year mark were impressed alongside the factory mark)
In excellent condition, no damage or repairs. A few small firing cracks.
Very Likely One of a kind 240 years old Cat figure, once sold You will never find it again.
