About the Item
Undergrowth green color jade sculpture depicting a Fo dog. It rests on a shaped wooden base. The sculpture consists of only two jade blocks, the head and body, with a total weight of about one quintal. The head is movable and detachable from the body, this also allows its position to be oriented in the desired direction. Jade is considered a symbol of beauty, gentleness, benevolence and purity and is one of the pillars of Chinese civilization, but it is equally important to other peoples around the world. Jade is composed of nephrite and jadeite. Its color can range from white to black, pink or mauve, in addition to its more familiar green color.
