The Olympic Flame Centenary Coin 22 karat Yellow Gold 1992
Located in Esch sur Alzette, Esch-sur-Alzette
The Olympic Flame Centenary Coin is a commemorative piece minted to celebrate the centenary of the Olympic Games. Head of Queen Elizabeth II, as at 64 years of age, wearing the royal diadem, necklace, and earrings, facing right. The coin is crafted from 22 karat yellow gold, ensuring both durability and a rich, lustrous appearance. The use of high-purity gold signifies its value and collectible status. The coin has a face value of 175 dollars, issued by Canada, marking its authenticity and legal tender status. The coin commemorates the centenary of the Olympic Flame, a symbol of the enduring spirit and tradition of the Olympic Games. The Olympic Flame represents the ideals of peace, unity, and friendship among nations. The obverse side of the coin features an image of Queen Elizabeth II, a common element on Canadian currency, along with inscriptions denoting the coin’s country of origin and face value. Inscriptions include "ELIZABETH II," "D.G. REGINA" (by the Grace of God, Queen), "175 DOLLARS," and the year of minting, 1992. Engraver: Dora de Pédery-Hunt The reverse side features a detailed and symbolic depiction of the Olympic Flame, shown as a burning torch or flame, accompanied by several different faces reaching toward the Olympic torch. Engraver: Ago Aarand, Designer: Stewart Sherwood. On the edge there is a script in latin : citius, altius, fortius. Mint : Royal Canadian Mint of Ottawa, Canada. This coin was minted along with several countries for the International Olympic Comittee (I.O.C.) in commemoration of the centennial of the Olympics. The coin is struck with high relief, showcasing intricate details and fine craftsmanship typical of commemorative coins. The design elements are rendered with precision, highlighting both the flame's symbolic significance and the historical importance of the centenary celebration. As a limited-edition commemorative coin, the Olympic Flame Centenary Coin holds significant value for collectors, particularly those with an interest in Olympic memorabilia...

Antique Victorian Cameo Shell Princess
Located in Chesterland, OH
This Victorian unmounted Carnelian shell cameo depicting the right-facing profile of the Princess is very well carved in exquisite detail. The surface is as crisp as the day it was crafted, impressive for a shell cameo from the late Victorian era. This would date back to around the 1860s-1890s. The carving on this cameo is excellent and well-detailed, with good relief. This was carved by an excellent carver, as were most Victorian cameos. This loose cameo...

Fall 1989 MOSCHINO Dinner Cutlery Fork Knife and Spoon Brooch Full Set with Box
Located in Munich, DE
Early Moschino pieces designed by Franco Moschino himself – often referred to as Italian fashion's "enfant terrible" – within the short period when he launched the House of Moschino in 1983 until he passed away in 1994 are sought after and highly collectible. This treasure, like several others – some of them already available in my shop, more to be listed gradually –, comes direct from a German socialite and fashion lover so has not been on the market prior to this. This is a rare and collectible full set of three cutlery brooches with their original box from one of Franco Moschino's most iconic collections, the Fall 1989 "Show-off" couture runway collection. Capturing the fun and charm vibe that Moschino has always represented as a brand, they are the epitome of a conversation starter accessory! Pieces of this legendary "Dinner" collection are held by various fashion museums worldwide. We sold the "Dinner" jacket and skirt suit to The Museum at FIT in NYC last year. The set comprises three gold-colored metal brooches featuring a fork, a knife and a spoon with a deliberate black patina and double pins on the back. All pieces are embossed MOSCHINO. Original box still present. Excellent vintage condition. Hardly ever worn. Deliberate black patina. Irregularities on metal are original. Fork: approx. 12.7 cm x 2 cm – 5" x 0.79" Knife: approx. 13 cm x 1,5 cm – 5.12" x 0.6" Spoon: approx. 13 cm x 2,8 cm – 5.12" x 1.1" Weight: Fork (21 g) / Knife (23 g) / Spoon (26 g) Reference photo: Moschino Couture Fall 1989...
