About the Item
This stunning Victorian hat pin/hair ornament was created in 1875 ca. The ornament is of modernistic design which was the hight of avant-garde in its day. The design is using the ball motif, as well as a cone and disk. Except for the top part connected to the pin all elements all joined together by chains in order that all they may have maximum articulation. The head ornament is cast out of brass and and has then been gilded. The ornament is connected to the pin with an articulated hinge.
