About the Item
This is a Dutch Walcher apron buckle, which was worn as a closure at the back of an apron. The gorgeous buckle was sewn onto the apron band for decoration. This type of accessory buckle closures were worn around 1895-1910. This apron closure is made of second grade silver and was part of the Dutch Zeeland costume. The frame is handcrafted with fine filigree and cannetille work, while the closure has floral engravings on top. The sides present beautiful heart-shaped figures. It reminds me of the tree of life.
The buckle closure is in beautiful and good condition. It measures 104 mm in width and its height is 70 mm. The weight of the buckle is 35.9 grams.
