About the Item
This is an exceptionally rare Native American sterling silver tiara—an object almost never encountered on the market today, and one that occupies a fascinating space between ceremonial adornment and personal ornament. The piece is beautifully hand-wrought, with classic stamped and chased detailing along the band and a balanced placement of stones that speaks to the silversmith’s eye. At the center is a natural branch coral cabochon, flanked on either side by turquoise nuggets in their original hand-cut bezels. A third stone, positioned off to the side, displays a soft, unmistakable chatoyance; under light it opens and closes like a shutter, lending the piece a subtle sense of animation and depth. We believe this stone to be feldspar (moonstone). The combination of these three materials—coral, turquoise, and a chatoyant stone—is both unusual and visually compelling.
Tiaras by Native American silversmiths are profoundly scarce. While silverwork from the Navajo, Zuni, and Pueblo artisans spans belts, cuffs, ketohs, rings, and hair ornaments, true tiaras were made only in exceedingly small numbers and generally for specific ceremonial or personal uses. They were not produced for the tourist trade, nor were they widely distributed, which makes this example especially significant. The workmanship here is entirely correct for mid-20th-century Native American silver: the hand-drawn wire, the small applied raindrop beads, and the purposeful but unforced asymmetry all speak to an accomplished, confident maker.
The tiara is in fine vintage condition with an untouched, honest surface and stones that remain securely set. It wears beautifully—lightweight, refined, and surprisingly versatile—and it displays exactly the sort of presence collectors of high-level Native American jewelry look for. Tiaras also sell extraordinarily well for me due to their sculptural impact and inherent rarity, and this is one of the most distinctive examples I have offered.
Objects of this scarcity and charm simply do not appear often, and when they do, they tend to be retained in private collections. This piece represents a rare opportunity to acquire a handmade Native American silver tiara with original turquoise, coral, and chatoyant stone—an evocative, wearable work of art made with tremendous skill and intention. Priced accordingly for its rarity and strong collector appeal.

Hessonite Garnet, Natural Quartz Crystals, USA
Located in Northampton, MA
An entirely hand-wrought tiara of striking originality and regal presence, forged from Ohio steel—not stainless, but true steel with substance and strength. Every element has been meticulously shaped by hand: the thick wire frame has been twisted and curved to hold a constellation of twelve hessonite garnet crystals and fifteen natural quartz beads.
The garnets—each approximately 7–8 mm—glow in warm cinnamon tones, their inner fire recalling the famed “cinnamon stone” treasured in antique Georgian jewelry...

Chalcedony Bracelet, Arts
Crafts Style Circa 1970s
Located in Northampton, MA
This luminous blue and grayish-blue chalcedony bracelet was created in the Arts & Crafts style though it dates to a later era; probably the 1970s. This one-of-a-kind bracelet was completely handmade using natural highly translucent chalcedony gems that range in tone from faint blue to rich periwinkle. At 141 grams, it's a satisfyingly substantial bracelet that will not get lost on your arm.
The central flower-shaped arrangement is composed of one round 21mm chalcedony cabochon surrounded by eight oval and pear-shaped stones, along with two large 20mm x 17mm pear-shaped cabochons north and south. This collection of stones are soldered together as one piece that is curved to follow the arch of your wrist. On either side of this central design element are nine chalcedony cabochons, each bezel set and joined by hand-formed links. The links terminate on both ends at a row of 5 stones: two round, three ovals. The bracelet closes securely with a box clasp and safety latch. Because the central portion of this very large bracelet is fused, it's not a sloppy piece; the gems don't spin around on your wrist and become tangled. It retains its form and only the stones on the sides that are linked by chain can move freely. It's a clever design.
The bracelet measures 7 ½ in length and is 3 ¾ wide. So it should fit many but the largest wrists. The bracelet is marked 925 for the silver and has an unknown maker's mark I cannot identify.
