About the Item
An exquisitely and richly relief-carved eagle head in Gold Lip Mother Of Pearl set in Sterling Silver. Signed, dated, titled, and inscribed on the verso: "Friend or Foe You'll Never Know, Winston, 93' "
Buckle measures 2.50 inches H. x 3.13 inches W., with a weight of 99.2 grams.
The buckle bar measures 1.50 inches wide.
This piece is in like-new condition and has not been previously worn. I am its original owner. A rare opportunity to acquire a classic example of this artist's work in pristine original condition.
John Winston (b. 1948 - ) is renown for his belt buckles and bolo ties--all with incredibly detailed carvings in gemstone turquoise and mother-of-pearl. Winston's belt buckles and bolo ties appear in the collections of many celebrities and are highly sought after. Beginning in 2016, the artist also began crafting large free-standing sculptures of turquoise and malachite.
