About the Item
This antique silver ornate floral filigree belt buckle is a beautiful example of intricate craftsmanship. The buckle features a striking design centered around two prominent silver spheres, one set on each side. These spheres are encircled by a round openwork structure, meticulously crafted from twisted silver wire that adds texture and depth to the piece. Many delicate small knots and a spiral thread motif further accentuates the central elements, enhancing the visual appeal.
The buckle's edge is adorned with a scalloped border, lending a soft, undulating finish to the piece. Throughout the buckle, scrolling filigree work weaves elegantly, creating an intricate pattern that highlights the skill involved in its creation.
On the reverse side, there are hooks for fastening the belt and a clasp to secure it. The hallmark is present and visible at the front of the buckle, the 'Dutch Sword' which stands for second grade silver. Its hooks at the back are slightly bend and knots are a little dented.
