Monies Black Wood Clip-On Earrings 1980s Danish Sculptural 80s Statement Jewelry
By Monies
Located in San Diego, CA
Statement-making and highly collectible, these dramatic vintage 1980s large black wood clip-on earrings by Danish design house Monies embody the bold, sculptural aesthetic that defined the brand’s rise to global cult status. Crafted in a striking organic crescent shape, the earrings are hand-carved from lightweight black wood and finished with gleaming silver-tone clip backs marked MONIES. Known for its use of natural materials and architectural forms, Monies was founded in 1973 by Gerda and Nikolai Monies and gained prominence in the 1980s for its avant-garde jewelry that blurred the line between fashion and art. These earrings exemplify the Monies ethos: minimalist, sculptural, and unmistakably modern. Ideal for both daytime statement dressing and evening drama, the earrings can be styled with everything from crisp tailored blazers to minimalist dresses or layered bohemian looks. Their matte black finish makes them versatile for monochromatic and high-contrast palettes alike. These rare vintage earrings are a must-have for collectors of postmodern, Memphis Milano-inspired, or Scandinavian design-forward jewelry. The Marion Clayden ivory silk cut velvet ensemble, and the olive Manolo Blahnik...

Modernist Georg Jensen Astrid Fog Large Sterling Silver Cross Bars Necklace
By Georg Jensen
Located in New York, NY
Scarce large 1970's Scandinavian Modernist sterling silver cross bars necklace by Astrid Fog for Georg Jensen. Astrid Fog (1911-1993) designed her first jewelry collection for Georg Jensen in 1969. Her jewelry designs are distinctive for their large scale and bold, modernist style using classic geometric forms such as rectangles, circles and squares. She successfully utilized high quality lightweight, hollow silver forms to create pieces which were striking as well as comfortable to wear. This beautiful necklace is from the estate of a noted New York City psychiatrist who collected interesting, unusual, often one-of-a-kind jewelry. The pendant measures 2.19 inches by 2.19 inches. The chain is 29 inches long. Marks: 379 925 S Denmark Georg Jensen...

Will fit up to 16 inch neck, pendant drop approximately 2.75 inches, width of agate 2 inches. Item Weight: 123 grams. Ref: The Jewellery Box Jens Ingvordsen P.275. She studied at Konstfack, the School of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, beginning in 1945 while pregnant with her first child, Pia. She married a French architect and lived in Stockholm until 1956 having a second child, a son, Claude. As early as 1952, Torun exhibited her jewelry, made both in Stockholm and France (and bearing hallmarks from each country) in Paris. In 1956 she moved to France with her third husband, Walter Coleman. She designed jewelry for among others, Billie Holiday which Holiday wore when she performed. The couple moved to Biot in the south of France. Torun produced many pieces during this period when young Swedish silversmiths would come to work in her studio, introducing her to new techniques.
