About the Item
A rare surviving example from the mid-to-late 16th century, this Poland–Lithuania Commonwealth ring is crafted in high-purity 20-karat gold and features remnants of its original enamel. At the centre sits a hand-cut natural ruby, set within an ornate sculptural gold mount characteristic of early Renaissance craftsmanship. Lightweight, delicate, and historically significant, this is an exceptional museum-level jewel.
A genuine 16th century ring crafted in 20kt gold, decorated with blue and white enamel traces and set with a square-cut natural ruby at the centre. The decorative gold work features floral and foliate forms typical of Eastern European Renaissance jewellery. Despite its age, the ring retains excellent detail and strong presence, making it a highly collectable early jewel.
