About the Item
An antique diamond and yellow gold ring, comprising three old European cut diamonds and two rose cut diamonds, set in 18 karat yellow gold, to a band of 18 karat yellow gold.
The ring is set with 5 sparkling diamonds, which graduate from the centre out, creating a classic ‘boat’ ring, known as such for the shape. The largest central diamond is an old European cut diamond, which is bright, white, and sparkly. The central diamond is flanked by a pair of slightly smaller old cut diamonds, all of which are well matched with one another. The final pair of diamonds are rose cut diamonds, with a deeper, darker glitter to them. The gallery of the ring is adorned with a row of five circles to each side, allowing plenty of light to pass through, and aid sparkle. The shoulders of the ring have been carved with elegant scrolls, and taper to a plain, polished band of yellow gold. The ring is in great condition, with the band appearing to be a replacement. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
The setting of the ring measures 4mm high and 12mm wide. The ring measures 6.5mm at the front, and just over 2mm wide at the back.
