About the Item
The keeper ring is a classic and highly sought after ring style, this antique Edwardian era keeper knot style ring is a real charmer.
The face is made up from a scrolling knot design engraved into the face.
The ring is crafted in a rich 9ct rose gold with a warm inviting glow.
It is a well designed and weighty piece, this would make a wonderful gift or a great stackable piece for your collection.
There are a number of stories behind the origins of the keeper ring stretching far back to the Georgian eras.
One was that they were worn as guard rings when jewels were worn over gloved hands, another and perhaps the most commonly known is that they are used to hold or keep more expensive rings in place by wearing them above.
The other and the most romantic version of the origin is that they were worn as pre marriage rings, basically saying that the intended wearer was a keeper.

Edwardian era, fully hallmarked for 9ct gold, Birmingham Assay.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some light surface wear commensurate with age, previous resize, a little tarnish to the reverse.
Approx weight: 3.30g.
