About the Item
An Art Deco ruby, diamond, platinum and yellow gold ring, comprising one oval cut ruby, two round cut rubies, and two old mine cut diamonds, set in platinum, to an 18 karat yellow gold band.
This Art Deco ring is set to the centre with an oval shaped ruby. The ruby is a soft pinkish red and is held within a rectangular platinum setting. The ruby is flanked by a pair of old mine cut diamonds, similarly set, which are bright, white, sparkly, and well-matched with one another. The ring is further set with a pair of round cut rubies, which are well matched with one another. The rubies and diamonds graduate in size from the centre out and are raised on an openwork gallery. The slim shoulders of the ring taper to a plain, polished band of yellow gold. The ring is in good condition, with some wear to the facets of the ruby, as would be expected with a piece of this age. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
The head of the ring measures 4.5mm long, and 16mm wide, sitting 3.2mm off the hand. The band measures 1.6mm wide at the back.
