A retro Byzantium Style Emerald Sapphire Ruby Ring 18 Karat Yellow Gold, circa 1990.
This Byzantine style ring is bezel set with a round cut sapphire of 0.18 carat approximately to its centre, framed by a round cut emerald of 0.08 carat and a round cut ruby of 0.11 carat approximately either side mounted in textured yellow gold with elaborate scrolled twist wire and beaded granulation detail all crafted in contrasting polished yellow gold.
This wide bold statement ring is heavily reminiscent of the Byzantium revival era of the late 1800s where the jewels featured intricate patterns, including filigree work and interwoven designs,
