About the Item
A lovely hand carved emerald eternity band set in 18K gold. The 18 emeralds total carat weight approximates 1 carat. The face of the ring measures 2mm and weighs 1.4 grams, the ring is a USA size 8 3/4. It cannot be sized so If you are a lucky size 8 3/4 this can be yours!
This eternity band has many hand cut details, including a hand carved indent between each emerald, adding definition to the ring and segmenting the ring in 18 sections of emeralds. Each emerald is held in via hand wrought gold beads at each corner, 4 on each emerald. That is alot of hand-work!
Gold beads were an early technique of setting the gemstones and helps us to date the ring from the 19th century. Later rings used claws, a far less labor intensive technique, to hold in the stones. Claws are also typically used today.
This is a rare early emerald eternity band, ideal for your next special anniversary gift.
