About the Item
What makes this gypsy ring unique? So many things!
We could start with the wonderful burma rubies.
Or we could mention the clever way the goldsmith incised (hand-carved) lines in the gold to suggest stems with the rubies as the flower. Or perhaps we should point out the clever buckle at the center of the ring face, a nod to the Victorian era when buckles took on symbolic meaning of deepest love and unbreakable bond.
We simply love the contrast of the polished gold ring vs the mottled matte underside of the ring (see photos for details giving the underside a more natural look. This also gives insight into the care and hand-work of this goldsmith of which there is a surprising amount on this c1900 Edwardian ring, far more than typical of this post industrial time period.
Our ruby buckle gypsy ring is a substantial size. Unusually for a ring like this, this band has never been resized and so is a consistent size all around. This is the perfect gypsy ring that will enhance your other gold rings and one of the best gypsy rings we have come across.
