About the Item
This beautiful, elegant and substantial ring has the ability to stand on its own, a nod to strength and spirit, an uncommon feature to see in band rings which are generally circular. It is composed of five baguette diamonds set in substantial gold settings with wide rectangular slightly concave panels between each gem. Each of the diamond settings has an open back to illuminate the beauty of each gemstone.
The number five is symbolic of marriage according to the Pythagorian tradition. 5 is associated with the Roman goddess Venus, the goddess of love and her Babylonian parallel, Ishtar. There are five virtues and five vices, five elements of light- wind, water, fire, light and ether, and five elements of darkness. 5 is an auspicious number in the Chinese traditions, representative of the Emperor, luck and good fortune.
Condition: Very Good with light surface wear and lovely patina, two tiny nicks to two of the diamonds observed under 10X magnification and not visible to the naked eye.
