About the Item

A Georgian ring that closely connects us to the family of its owners comes to us with unmarred guilloche enamel with a small old mine diamond in the center. It shows beautiful gold work by a talented goldsmith. The ring was owned and worn by Sarah Ketterer, the woman whose name is inscribed inside the shank. When she passed in 1849, her family engraved the inner shank with her date of death, making the jewel a memorial to her. You can see the shank size change when the ring passed to her family. The shank is sturdy 10 Kt gold and serpentine recalling the symbol for eternity as it runs around the entire finger with no beginning nor end. Do not hesitate about the karat gold as 10 Kt gold is harder and more durable than 14 Kt, 18 Kt or 22 Kt . Notice the fine tightly engraved wire work around the face and the elegant beading framing it. Size 6 1/2-6 3/4
