In February 1864, René Boivin was born in Paris. He began his career as a goldsmith at an early age and showed great talent in the fields of design and engraving in particular. Around 1890, he made the investment of taking over a number of different workshops, before settling on Rue St. Anastase. In 1893, he moved to Rue Turbigo and married a woman named Jeanne Poiret, sister of the famous fashion designer Paul Poiret. She later emerged as the first female jewelry designer...
