About the Item
A diamond and ruby ring, the ring in the form of a double heart, set with a pear-shaped diamond and a faceted ruby of similar shape, estimated to weigh 0.84 carats and 1.28 carats, to the centre of a diamond cluster surround and ribbon bow surmount, the diamonds estimated to weigh a total of 0.80 carats, all set in platinum to an 18ct yellow gold mount, with fleur-de-lis shoulders and D-section shank, London 2011, by Bentley and Skinner, head measuring 1.8x1.7cm, gross weight 6.7 grams. This romantic ring was made by Bentley
Skinner, Jewellers by Royal Appointment to His Majesty King Charles III. It is inspired by Victorian double heart rings, which were a popular style for engagement ring or gift between sweethearts in the nineteenth century. This piece features two hearts, one set to the centre with a dazzling pear-cut diamond and the other with a crimson pear-cut ruby. Each central stone is surrounded by a frame of further diamonds and the two hearts are connected at the top by a diamond-studded ribbon. Evocative of the Victorian era but absolutely wearable today, this wonderful ring would make the idea non-traditional engagement ring.
