Circa 1880
A radiant example of late Victorian sentimentality, this 15ct yellow gold ring features a captivating arrangement of deep red garnets and luminous seed pearls. The gemstones are set in a floral-inspired cluster, framed by ornate “fancy shoulders” that flow into the band with graceful scrollwork and foliate detailing.
Victorians saw Garnets as tokens of deep affection, often exchanged between lovers. Their fiery hue symbolized the heart’s desire and enduring devotion
Also garnets were believed to safeguard travelers and light the way through darkness, garnets were worn as amulets of safety and spiritual illumination
Pearls symbolized purity and wisdom. Together, they create a timeless emblem of devotion and grace.
