Antique Original Art-Deco 4.48 carat Aquamarine and Diamond Ring in Platinum
Platinum (tested) ring made in the early 1920s. It has been set with a proportioned emerald-cut aquamarine (4.48cts) aglow with a serene azure blue hue. The bezel-set gemstone is embellished all around with separately set 16 European-cut diamonds accentuated with decorative piercing and fine milgraining. This beautiful blue stone is said by ancient lore to be the treasure of the mermaids. The name Aquamarine is derived from the Latin words “aqua”, meaning “water,” and “marina”, meaning “of the sea.” This ring is ravishing and looks stunning when worn as it sits low on the finger. It would make a perfect engagement ring.
