About the Item
Art Deco jewelry was influenced by the machine aesthetic and rings from this era have a bold geometric appearance. The geometric motifs stemmed from a focus on Cubism. Angles and shapes were streamlined as can be seen in the circles, rectangles, ovals half moons which abound in our Deco ring.
The ring has a silvery cool tone which is very much in keeping with the Art Deco interest in "white" jewelry. We particularly love the ingenuity on the part of the goldsmith and the interesting openwork on the underside of the ring.
The ring is marked with a dog's head hallmark (shown), the French hallmark that has been used on platinum jewelry since 1912.
