An Art Deco ruby and diamond ring, the cushion-shaped ruby weighing 2.76 carats, accompanied by GCS report, stating to be of Burmese origin with no indications of heating, four claw-set between two old pear brilliant-cut diamonds, weighing 2.1 carats in total, assessed colour I-J, assessed clarity SI, surrounded by fourteen grain-set old European-cut diamonds, to diamond-set shoulders, diamonds estimated to weigh 2.9 carats in total, all in platinum mount with pierced gallery and D-section shank, circa 1930, the head measuring 1.5x2.1xcm, later rhodium-plated, gross weight 7.95 grams. This ring is in excellent condition. Unmarked, tested as platinum.
This stunning vintage ring comes from the collection of Bentley
Skinner, Jewellers by Royal Appointment to His Majesty King Charles III. This piece is a fabulous example of Art Deco design at its most glamorous, featuring a pink-hued central ruby surround flanked by two pear shaped dazzling diamonds and surrounded by further scintillating diamonds set in white gold. This bombastic and sparkling ring would pair perfectly with a slinky black dress.
